AUTHOR: Ashley Rose Young
Ashley Rose Young, PhD, is a public historian and curator dedicated to bringing history to life through storytelling, research, and public engagement. In her current role as Curator of American History in the Rare Book & Special Collections Division at the Library of Congress, she has the extraordinary opportunity to steward and interpret one of the world’s most significant collections of rare books and manuscripts related to American life. Prior to joining the Library of Congress, she served as the Historian of the American Food History Project at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. In that role, she curated exhibitions and public programs, collaborated with community stakeholders, and spearheaded research initiatives that brought historical insight to broad public audiences. Ashley is also the author of Nourishing Networks: The Public Culture of Food in New Orleans (Oxford University Press, 2025).
