The complete National Book Festival writer events and book signings is live! Check out the complete schedule here: loc.gov/bookfest.
We’ve made it easy to find the events you’re most interested in. Filter the schedule by stage, event type and more than 35 genres. Use the “add to calendar” feature to build a customized schedule for your day.
And, as usual, a selection of programs will be livestreamed online and videos of all programs will be available shortly after the Festival.
Our non-local readers will want to take a look at the virtual attendee guide, updated for 2024 with a roadmap of all possible ways to engage with the Festival if you cannot attend in person. Look for tips on activities before, during and after the Festival!
We’re looking forward to seeing you all on Aug. 24!

Is there a way to get a simple, side-by-side calendar view so we can see which talks are at any given point in time?
Hi Andy, There will be a printable schedule made available on the site as we get closer to August 24 with a different layout to view the schedule. The orientation you see on our site is designed to work with computers with various screen widths and also with mobile devices like smart phones and tablets. You can use the time range selection feature to see what events are happening at what times, but it will still be in an up-and-down orientation.
Are the authors only signing their current books?
Hi Terry, thanks for your question–if you go to https://www.loc.gov/events/2024-national-book-festival/authors/ and then click on the profile of a writer whose signing you’re interested in attending, you can scroll down on that author’s profile and click on the link to their booksigning and you will find the relevant info there for each of our writers whether they will sign past titles or just current ones. Taking the example of the first alphabetical writer in our lineup this year, you would go to https://www.loc.gov/events/2024-national-book-festival/schedule/item/event-413274/tomi-adeyemi-and-vanessa-le-book-signing/2024-08-24/ to find the info you need. Hope that helps!
