Young readers and families, Meg Medina, 8th National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, invites you to join special one-on-one sessions as part of her Cuéntame! Let’s Talk Books platform. On Saturday, October 7, Meg will meet with a select number of families in short sessions occurring from 10:00 am until 4:30 pm. Tickets are required and selected by lottery. To join the lottery, please register by noon ET on Thursday, Sept. 21. If selected, guests will receive an e-mail on Friday, Sept. 22 with notification that they have secured tickets. To apply to the lottery, please visit this registration page.*

In your 20-minute “Meet Meg Medina!” session, you can expect to talk about your favorite books, ask your burning questions about writing and the writing process, and experience a master book talker connect your passions to books you may enjoy. Medina will share her favorite Library of Congress resources, which can boost your curiosity and at-home creativity. Families can also explore the Young Reader’s Center and Programs Lab, a dedicated kids’ space with activities based on Library collections.

Cuéntame! Let’s Talk Books is inspired by the phrase Spanish-speaking friends and families use to catch up with one another and its primary goal is to encourage connection amongst classrooms, libraries, and communities by talking about books—books that reflect readers’ lives and books that expose readers to new perspectives.
