(The following post is by Hirad Dinavari, reference specialist for the Iranian World Collections, African and Middle Eastern Division of the Library of Congress.)
In conjunction with the 2014 exhibition: “A Thousand Years of the Persian Book” at the Library of Congress, we in AMED teamed up with Roshan Persian Studies Institute at University of Maryland to co-host thirteen lectures and a symposium on various aspects of the Persian language, and the book making traditions. The majority of the lectures were hosted at the Library and the others were held at the University of Maryland. Almost all the lectures were filmed and I am delighted to highlight here the video recordings of the first “Persian Book Lecture Series” at the Library of Congress. Listed below are the video recordings as well as the online virtual version of the exhibition.

The exhibition was made possible through the generous support of Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans and Ambassador Hushang Ansary, as well as a number of other Iranian-American patrons.
Public programming for the Library of Congress exhibition was cosponsored by Roshan Institute for Persian Studies at the University of Maryland with the generous support of the Roshan Cultural Heritage Institute based in Hawaii.
