Sign up for our research orientation online and learn about the Library’s European collections and the European Reading Room services and collections. Orientations are offered to the public the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Those attending should obtain a Library of Congress Reader Identification Card prior to the session. For more information about reader cards, see here.

Lecture: Korean Women: Past and Present by Dr. Jennifer Jung-Kim

The Asian Division at the Library of Congress presents “Korean Women: Past and Present” by Dr. Jennifer Jung-Kim. This talk will examine the social situation of Korean women prior to the 17th century, the changes brought by Neo-Confucianism from the 17th century, and the reforms after Korea opened to the West in the 19th century. Free and open to the public.
