After Japan invaded China in 1937, reports on topics of pressing strategic interest grew and extended beyond Manchuria to cover all of China as well as Southeast Asia. SMRC’s economic research bureau in Hankou, China, published this report on coal supplies in southeast China, “K (“An overview of coalfields in Jiangxi Province”). 1939.
