Cameron Penwell is a Japanese reference specialist in the Asian Division at the Library of Congress. His prior professional experience includes teaching East Asian history and working as a translator and editor in Tokyo. He holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Japanese from Middlebury College and completed graduate studies in Japanese history at the University of Chicago.
