Each year the Kluge Center welcomes top scholars from around the world, including many from EU Member States. The European Month of Culture offers an opportunity to showcase the excellent and diverse scholars from across the continent who have come to Capitol Hill to use the Library of Congress and be part of our intellectual community.

This year we spotlighted scholars from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Poland, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Ireland and Belgium/The Netherlands. We also hosted two lectures co-sponsored by the EU: one by Bulgarian-American scholar Theo Christov, and one by Kissinger Chair Bruce Jentleson.

Check out the EU’s summary of our collaboration here, and stay tuned for news on future collaborations.

We are also currently accepting applications for two senior chair positions at the Kluge Center: our Kissinger Chair in Foreign Policy and International Relations, and our NASA/Library of Congress Chair in Astrobiology. European scholars are eligible to apply–and we hope many will!
