Watch: Drew Gilpin Faust on her history with the Library of Congress

Share this post:

When Drew Gilpin Faust – historian, former Harvard University president, and author of the Bancroft Prize-winning book This Republic of Suffering: Death and the American Civil War – accepted the John W. Kluge Prize for Achievement in the Study of Humanity, she took some time to sit down with us to discuss the Library of Congress and the role of scholarship and the humanities in the world today.

Here is Faust on the Library of Congress, which she said is, “very dear to my heart, and a place where I have done research since the very beginning of my career as a historian.”

Keep an eye out here for more excerpts from our interview with Faust.
