Collections Relocated for the Law Library Reading Room Remodeling

Share this post:

The Law Library would like to provide more information regarding the collections that will be relocated permanently in preparation for the Reading Room Remodeling. The following is a list of the larger sets that have been and are currently being moved permanently to other areas of the Law Library and Library of Congress annex shelving areas:

  • Maryland Reports
  • DC Reports
  • Virginia Reports
  • House and Senate Reports
  • Congressional Record and Daily Congressional Record
  • Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents
  • Federal Register
  • Decennials (8th-10th)
  • Specialized reporters and digests (bankruptcy, customs, military justice)
  • American Law Reports (ALR’s)
  • Law journals (in process)
  • Regional reporters – will begin with Northeast, Northwest, Southwest and Pacific, currently keeping the Atlantic and Southern (in process)

Even though these materials have been moved permanently from the Reading Room to other areas, patrons can still (and more easily!) order items for use in the Reading Room either in person or through the Automated Call Slip system. In addition, many of these materials are accessible in electronic format through the online databases available to patrons in the Reading Room. You can contact a reference librarian for research help. The collections relocation project will continue for several months and additional collections will be relocated. We will update you as progress continues.
