From Kabul to Capitol Hill – Pic of the Week

Share this post:

The Library of Congress collects material from all over the world.   Sometimes we identify items we would like to have in our collection that are one of a kind or are held by another institution.  In these cases, we are often able to photocopy or microfilm the items.

Today’s Pic of the Week shows material from Afghanistan in our field office in Islamabad, Pakistan.  The staff of the field office will collate and catalog the items.  The publications will then be sent to our field office in New Delhi, India for microfilming.  The original publications will then be repatriated back to Afghanistan, and the microfilm copies will be sent to the United States.
