Matthew Braun and Barbara Bavis represented the Law Library of Congress at the American Bar Association’s annual meeting in San Francisco earlier this month.  Matthew and Barbara presented “How to Conduct Free Legal Research Online” – a wildly successful course that counted for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits.

The conference’s expo featured a booth where the ABA shared information about its programs and events surrounding the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta.  The ABA is developing a Magna Carta Traveling Exhibit, restoring the ABA Memorial to Magna Carta in Runnymede, England, and planning other events to celebrate the influential document.

Joining them in front of the Magna Carta expo booth is M. Elizabeth (Liz) Medaglia, current chair of the ABA Standing Committee on the Law Library of Congress.  The Standing Committee was created in 1932 to serve as the ABA’s voice for the legal profession concerning continued development, enhancement and operation of the Law Library of Congress.
