The major international commemoration of the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta happened today at Runnymede Meadows in Surrey, England. Prime Minister David Cameron, HRH The Princess Royal, American Bar Association president William Hubbard, and U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch participated in the rededication of the American Bar Association memorial at Runnymede.

The Law Librarian of Congress, David S. Mao, was fortunate enough to witness the ceremony in person. Here are some photographs from this morning:

You’re not too late to join in on the celebrations; Magna Carta commemorative events, lectures, art exhibitions, mock trials, and re-enactments will take place through November of this year in England, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

We have compiled a comprehensive list of all the coverage, press releases, blog posts, and videos from our own Magna Carta events from 2014 and 2015.  Our sponsors, without whom we could not have staged the exhibition and events, are also listed on the page.
