Reading Room Redo: New Furniture Edition – Pic of the Week

Share this post:

A lot has happened to our reading room over the last few months. One of the final steps is to have the new furniture assembled and arranged.  You can see our new entrance, the beginning of the new reference desk, lots of chairs, tables, a little trash, and the microfilm reading room in the pictures below.

You can track the progress beginning in September when Margaret announced the move, in October when items were removed, in January when it was almost completely bare, in March when the compact shelving was in place, and more recently in June when the glass walls were installed.

The Architect of the Capitol (AOC) has been a great partner on this project. In addition to doing the renovations, they have provided the photos of the progress along the way.

We are excited to move back in and hope you come visit!

  1. Looking very nice. It will be finished when there is a picture that shows the room occupied by the amazing staff with some very happy patrons.
