Recently I had the pleasure of being welcomed for a visit at the University of Florida libraries. The University of Florida is in Gainesville, Florida about 100 miles NNW from Orlando. I was fortunate to tour their digitization and storage facilities as well as the main campus libraries, along with the law school and law library.
The law library at the Levin College of Law is called the Lawton Chiles Legal Information Center. Lawton Chiles was a U.S. Senator and Florida governor in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s. The entrance to the U.F. law library has a biographical display of his life.

Hello, I have a lot of great photos and memorabilia of my Daddy’s that I think Fred would be happy for to contribute. Fred Levin was very dear to me, and my Dad. I have been a Shands patient since 2016 and am about to have shoulder replacement surgery with Dr. Johnathon Owen Wright on September 15th.
I’d be proud to meet with you and provide you some memorable items from Daddy’s career. Such as his US Army records, photos of his famous 1970 campaign walk from when I was 3 years old, photos and helped knock doors with him, also some meaningful things like his boots he wore the night before he died, things we did together like the Governors Partnership for Adoption 2-800-96 – Adopt that I created and he helped build the team of advisors that included Steve Spurrier! 🐊
Let me know how I may assist. I live in Ocala now, so I am close by!
Sincerely,
Rhea Gay Chiles
