Most Viewed In Custodia Legis Blog Posts of 2016

Last week we highlighted the reports on our website that received the most views in 2016. This week,  we wrote about the most viewed bills on Congress.gov for the year and the most read Global Legal Monitor articles. Today, I take a look at the In Custodia Legis blog posts that proved particularly popular in 2016.

We published a grand total of 229 posts during 2016–almost the same number as in 2015! If you’re worried you might have missed something, it’s easy to browse back through the posts. You could also start by checking out the links in this post or in the “top 10” posts from previous years.

Every year, we publish posts on a huge range of topics, reflecting the diverse interests and expertise of our staff and the vast scope of the Law Library’s collections. Our foreign law research staff have written about current global legal issues, such as the Volkswagen litigation, the detention order pertaining to Julian Assange, controversy over the regulation of church-building in Egypt, and the legalization of medical assistance in dying in Canada. In terms of our collections, we’ve seen posts on the publication of new Eritrean codes, the Yudin Collection of Russian legal materials, our Icelandic law collection, and many other posts that show you what we have ”on the shelf.” Our librarians have also provided research guidance through the “beginner’s guide” series, as well as writing about fascinating aspects of legal history.

Of course, we’ve also published several posts on enhancements to Congress.gov, and we’ve highlighted our events that take place regularly throughout the year. As always, we’ve published a number of interviews with our staff and interns, as well as people outside the Law Library, and many attractive and interesting “pics of the week.” Posts were not only written by the eighteen authors on the blog team, but also by a range of guest authors.
