Earlier this month, Andrew provided an update on the Congress.gov enhancements, including that the date of the “Previous Meeting” on the homepage is now linked to a list of items that were on the House or Senate floor that day. The previous release also included errata, a published correction for a committee report that, if applicable, will display in the overview box of the committee report.
In this release, you will find that ”On the Floor” reports are now linked from the “Yesterday in Congress” browse, so you can quickly locate detailed information about what was considered on the previous legislative day. We’re also introducing Congress.gov notifications that users can subscribe to in order to receive news and information about new Congress.gov features and system maintenance.

New Enhancements for June 2018 pt. 2
New Feature – “Congress.gov Notifications” RSS and email alerts
- Congress.gov users can now subscribe to “Congress.gov Notifications” to receive alerts with news and information about new features, system maintenance, and other items of interest.
- Sign up to receive notifications via RSS feed or email.
Enhancement – “On the Floor” reports linked from “Yesterday in Congress” browse
- Bills, resolutions, nominations, and treaties considered in the House and Senate are listed, by date, from a new “On the Floor” column on the “Yesterday in Congress” browse report.
- Note that “On the Floor” lists are available for dates beginning in May 2018.
- House and Senate “Previous Meeting” dates, in the “Current Legislative Activities” area on the Congress.gov homepage, have linked to “On the Floor” lists since early June 2018.
Enhancement – Committee Authority Project – Access to archived websites of terminated committees
The Committee Authority Project is a multi-phase project to improve access to committee information.
- Terminated committee profile pages now link to committee websites archived by the Library of Congress, when available.
- Example: the Select Committee on the Events Surrounding the 2012 Terrorist Attack in Benghazi terminated in 2016. The Congress.gov profile page for this committee will link to a calendar of dates for which committee website content was collected for the Congressional Web Archives.
