The current COVID-19 pandemic has put the healthcare systems of countries around the world to the test. While governments typically had laws and institutions in place to deal with pandemics and similar health crises, these have often had to be revised to deal with the current pandemic. In many cases, drastic new measures have been adopted and implemented.

Please join Laney Zhang and Nicolas Boring for the Law Library’s upcoming webinar, Fighting Pandemics: Foreign and International Legislative Frameworks, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 23, 2020. This webinar is the latest installment in the Law Library’s new series of webinars focused on foreign and comparative law. Focusing on select European and Asian jurisdictions, Ms. Zhang and Mr. Boring will summarize some of the pre-existing legislative frameworks before discussing new laws and regulations adopted to face the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as outlining the Law Library’s recent research, including a report on the continuity of legislative activities during emergency situations in 36 foreign jurisdictions.
