In early July, Andrew wrote about feedback driven improvements that have been added to Congress.gov, such as adding the ability to browse committee hearing transcripts.
In this release, the Congress.gov team continues the work of improving the accessibility of Congress.gov. Now, when you access a Congressional Record Daily Edition article, you can click “listen to this page” to have the article read aloud to you. This feature was formerly only available for the Congressional Record’s Daily Digest.
For example, I located this article from July 19th, 1999, where Rep. Lampson, from Texas, honored the first female pilot of a space shuttle, Eileen Collins. I clicked on “Listen to this page,” and the article was read to me.
The following are the second installment of Congress.gov Enhancements for July of 2022.

The Bound Congressional Record on Congress.gov now provides coverage dating all the way back to 1899. To make the most of this collection, on the results screen of a Congressional Record search, click “show keywords in context” at the top, left-hand side of the screen. The search results will then display a brief snippet of your search terms in context so you can quickly decide whether that result is relevant to you.
