Congress.gov New, Tip, and Top – October of 2023

Share this post:

In September, Andrew Reiter shared the announcement that the Congress.gov API is now out of its beta development phase and has several new enhancements and endpoints.

With this release, we are continuing our efforts to migrate historical legislative data from our legacy site, Century of Lawmaking, to Congress.gov. We are excited to announce that the Journals of Congress (1789-1817) are now available on Congress.gov. Look in the Congressional Activity section on the Browse page for links to historical House (1789-1817), Senate (1789-1817), and Senate Executive Journal (1789-1875) PDFs. In addition, The Daily and Weekly Committee Schedule Pages now display the total number of committee hearings at the top of the page.
