Congress.gov New, Tip, and Top – August 2025, Part 2

Share this post:

Earlier this month, Robert announced the enhanced access to House Votes in Congress.gov. The last two Congresses now have the House Votes integrated into the site. You can now select “House Roll Call Votes” to get email alerts for your member. Integrating votes into Congress.gov has been a frequent request to the website over the years. We were able to work with our data partner to bring this new feature to you.

Today’s release has multiple smaller enhancements that were also based on user feedback. You are now able to search just titles on the CRS Products Quick Search Form. We added LinkedIn to the share section of the Share/Save toolbar. The Senate Communications search results have now been adjusted to display Number – Descending by default. You can still adjust the sort function to other options.

Enhancements

The enhancements to Congress.gov in this release include:

Enhancement – CRS Products – Search

  • Use the Titles Only checkbox to retrieve results with your search terms in the product’s title.

Enhancement – Share/Save Tool – LinkedIn

Enhancement – Senate Communications – Search Results

  • Senate Communications search results are sorted by Number – Descending by default.  Use the Sort By dropdown to sort results by relevancy or Congressional Record date.

Congress.gov Tip

Congress.gov continues to grow. There are almost two million items available to search. A helpful resource for keeping track of what is available is the Coverage Dates for Congress.gov Collections page. Margaret previously blogged about how the page is a trove of information.
