One of the challenges bibliophiles often face at the National Book Festival is merely getting to see everything they want to see. The day is jam-packed with author presentations, book signings, and plenty more to see and do. That’s why if you’re one of said bibliophiles, you might want to make your battle plan early.
Hot off the presses (if the web can be referred to that way) is the complete schedule of author presentations, which also shows the authors’ corresponding book-signing times.
It’s not uncommon for die-hard fans to park themselves in a single pavilion all day to get, and keep, good seats. But tent-hopping can also be a great way to soak up a broader array of genres. If that’s your tactic, you’ll want to download the map of the festival grounds (PDF) to minimize your doubling-back and travel times on the Mall.
Reminder: The National Book Festival is Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between 3rd and 7th Streets.
If you want to help spread the word, use hashtag #nbf on Twitter. (While you’re at it, you might want to follow us on Twitter too.) We’ll also be rolling out a fun NBF feature on the Library’s Facebook page within the next few days that will let you share the joy of reading with your friends.
Good luck, and have fun!
