Sheet Music of the Week: Mother’s Day Edition

Mother is the only girl that kisses me now / Sam Gold
"Mother is the only girl that kisses me now" by Sam Gold. Philadelphia: Emmett J. Welch Music Pub., 1913.

There are two-hundred and twenty sheet music pieces in the Performing Arts Encyclopedia with “mother” in the title.  A year ago In the Muse surveyed a handful of these titles, and this week’s featured sheet music is one more way to remember yours on Sunday and every day. It would be remiss of us if  we did not point out that the grammatically correct “Mother is the only girl who kisses me now” is the title used inside the cover.  Nevertheless, relative pronoun and subordinate clause agreement may be the least of this gentleman’s problems.
