Senior Music Specialist Mark Horowitz alerts In the Muse that one of our esteemed colleagues can be heard on the BBC this week.

Last fall, a crew from the British Broadcasting Corporation visited the Library of Congress to produce a segment on four treasures from the Music Division’s storied vaults for the program Tales from the Stave.  The series highlights musical treasures from institutions around the world, but this is the first time the show’s producers have ventured across the pond.

For the next week, tune in to BBC Radio 4 to hear Senior Music Specialist Raymond White discuss Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. Host Frances Fyfield speaks with Ray as well as conductor-writer Nigel Simeone and Solomon Howard of the Washington National Opera.  Listen to the program here. View an American Treasures online exhibit about Porgy and Bess here.
