    • You’re in luck! If you can’t join us in Washington, D.C. this September, a selection of programs will be livestreamed, and video of all presentations can be viewed online after the Festival concludes.

  3. looking forward to it

  4. Yeah!! When will we receive information about volunteering to serve at the Festival?
    Patti 🙂

  5. Thank you ! So glad you will be back for this wonderful event!

  6. I look forward to attending the portions of the event available for online viewing.

  7. Since moving to the DMV, the National Book Festival has been one of the highlights of each year. If the pandemic isn’t breathing down our necks, I’ll attend in 2022!

  8. I love NBF and I am excited that this it would be in person. May I offer my services to volunteer for this Event.

    Nuzhat

    • To volunteer for the National Book Festival, send an email with your contact information to [email protected].

  9. …wonderful news. Thank you for “bringing us together!

  10. The Librarian of Congress seems nice enough and obviously loves authors and books. However, just being honest—not critical—she is not a good interviewer and her incessant interviewing detracts from the enjoyment of the authors. Can we have more of authors just reading from their works this year followed by Q&A with audience and the moderator just “moderate” not interview? We don’t want to hear the moderator’s takes and biases—we want to hear the authors.

  11. Love to attend

  12. When will we know which authors will be there.

    • Thanks for asking! We hope to announce our full line-up for the festival early next month.

  13. Thank you for returning one of the great local events to our calendars.

  14. Excited for the 2022 book festival! I’ve been attending since the first festival spearheaded by First Lady Laura Bush in 2001.

Agree the interviews of authors are less successful and detract from an author speaking directly to the audience.

Hope to see the schedule of authors soon—thank you!

  15. When will the list of participating authors be released?

    • Watch this space for an annoucement of our full author line-up in mid-July!

  16. When will authors and the detailed schedule be published? I have a hotel reservation on the assumption that there will be enough in person events to make it worthwhile. But I’m starting to question my assumptions as we are getting close and have no details at all. Anything is greatly appreciated.

    • You can look forward to an announcement of a full author lineup next week. Thanks for your patience!

  17. How do I get tickets to attend?

    • Good news! The National Book Festival is free, and tickets are not required for any of the presentations.
