Since moving to the DMV, the National Book Festival has been one of the highlights of each year. If the pandemic isn’t breathing down our necks, I’ll attend in 2022!

The Librarian of Congress seems nice enough and obviously loves authors and books. However, just being honest—not critical—she is not a good interviewer and her incessant interviewing detracts from the enjoyment of the authors. Can we have more of authors just reading from their works this year followed by Q&A with audience and the moderator just “moderate” not interview? We don’t want to hear the moderator’s takes and biases—we want to hear the authors.

Excited for the 2022 book festival! I’ve been attending since the first festival spearheaded by First Lady Laura Bush in 2001.

Agree the interviews of authors are less successful and detract from an author speaking directly to the audience.

Hope to see the schedule of authors soon—thank you!

When will the list of participating authors be released?

When will authors and the detailed schedule be published? I have a hotel reservation on the assumption that there will be enough in person events to make it worthwhile. But I’m starting to question my assumptions as we are getting close and have no details at all. Anything is greatly appreciated.
