Lola Pyne currently leads marketing and advertising in the Library’s Office of Communications. She has worked at the Library of Congress since 2004, starting off as manager of web design & development and then serving in various roles and offices building on her experience and interest in technology-based platforms and cultural outreach. In her current capacity, she develops social media and advertising campaigns, establishes long-term outreach plans for engagement and community involvement, and leads the outreach and marketing efforts for various programs, exhibitions, and events. Lola co-leads communications for Of the People: Widening the Path, the Library’s multi-year initiative that promotes outreach to and technology innovation and archives development for, and by, Black, Indigenous and other communities of color historically underrepresented in the U.S. and in the Library’s collections. Lola holds an M.S.Ed. in Museum Education from Bank Street College of Education and a B.A. in Sociology from Spelman College. She also earned a Graduate Certificate in Information Technology (IT) from Montgomery College.
