You know it’s coming, sooner or later this year must end. It has certainly been an interesting series of events, to say the least, and I will leave it there.
Whatever your plans are for New Year’s Eve, the NLS Music Section wants everyone to be safe and take some time for reflection. And if that includes a bit of partying, then allow us to suggest some titles from our collection that will help put you “In the Mood,” which happens to be available in audio format for saxophone at DBM 02723 on BARD.
If you’re looking for songs that can liven things up, try “The Complete Piano Player: Party Songs” arranged by Kenneth Baker. Get people moving with “Let’s Twist Again,” “When the Saints Go Marching In,” “There is a Tavern in the Town,” and “Drunken Sailor.” After a few hours of non-stop action, you may want to “Show Me the Way to Go Home” and have everyone join in with “We’ll Meet Again.” All these titles and more in braille music format at BRM 29562.
In audio format, we cover party songs from 50’s oldies to more current styles. Look for thrills on your piano with “Blueberry Hill” at DBM 02312, and give a salute to the King, Elvis, with “Lawdy Miss Clawdy” at DBM 03316. Recalling those vintage movie days, you can jazz up the scene with “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” at DBM 03323 and have a last call with “One for my Baby,” at DBM 03321, both Piano by Ear titles.
And for the rowdy ones, if you must “Fight for Your Right to Party,” let us help you learn the guitar part at DBM 03058, available upon request from the NLS Music Section. And make sure you’re hanging with the right people while they sing along with you on “Party Crowd,” DBM 02095.
This only happens once a year…so HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
