We Just Keep Adding…to BARD!

One of the fun and interesting parts of working at the NLS Music Section is being able to upload files to BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download). Our patrons are always checking to see what is new in the “Recently Added” link, and we frequently remind them that not all the NLS Music Section collection is available on BARD.  But we can certainly send you a hard copy if what you’re looking for is not there.  Give us a call at 800-424-8567, or e-mail us at [email protected].

Here are some recent additions, ranging from German lieder to the tango to jazz from a master.

If you have a taste for lieder, Schubert’s Ungeduld, from Die schöne Müllerin is available for download at BRM 36359, and Schumann’s Frühlingsnacht from his Liederkreis,op. 39  is at BRM 36373.

Works with an Argentine feel are from one of my favorite popular American composers, Leroy Anderson with Blue Tango at BRM 07419. More of the same is from Alberto Ginastera, with BRM 28899Rondo on Argentine Children’s Folk Tunes.

Art Tatum, 1910-1956

Now, let’s get cool.  Just Standards, Real Book C Edition is at BRM 36374, is a great fake book with over 200 songs and possible chord options. And for you serious students of jazz, The Right Hand According to Tatum is waiting for you at BRM 36375.

We may not have everything, but we are always on the prowl for our patrons and their interests, from the classical recital hall to a speak-easy dive.  It’s all music to us.
