New BARD Additions: December 2024

Season’s Greetings from the NLS Music Section! As we prepare to ring in the new year, the NLS Music Section is proud to present our latest additions to BARD (Braille Audio Reading Download).

There’s something for all of our patrons, including guitarists and pianists. If you’re looking to deepen your understanding of guitar technique and theory, we’ve added three lessons of guitar triads by Bill Brown. We’ve also acquired songs by Dan Fogelberg and Joe Diffie, both taught on guitar by Bill Brown. For the pianists, Brown teaches you how to play one of Edvard Grieg’s Lyric Pieces and a Bach fugue, completely by ear!

If you missed our webinar on the Monterey Pop Festival, we’ve added the recording of that presentation to our collection. Katie Rodda gives wonderful insight into one of music’s most hallowed crossroads. We’ve also added three concerts and interviews presented by the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

Finally, for our braille patrons, we’ve added piano works by Benjamin Britten and Sergei Rachmaninoff, lessons for the recorder, and Use Your Illusion II on guitar by Guns ‘n Roses. There is something for everyone!

You can also borrow materials below by mail, not only through BARD. Simply contact the Music Section to borrow talking books on digital cartridge or embossed copies of braille music. Call us at 1-800-424-8567, ext. 2, or e-mail us at [email protected].
