Brian McCurdy joined the Library of Congress in 2019 where he serves as a Music Reader Services Librarian at the National Library Service. He spends his time working with patrons, developing the collection, digitizing braille scores, and circulating print and audio materials across the United States. Prior to joining the NLS, Brian served for 22 years in the United States Air Force as a clarinetist and music librarian in the USAF Band in Washington, DC. Brian holds a Bachelor of Music degree in clarinet performance from Shenandoah University, a Master of Music degree from the University of Maryland, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from George Mason University.
