AUTHOR: Gilbert Busch
Gilbert Busch joined the Library of Congress in 2009 as a braille music specialist in the Music Section of the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled. He grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and participated in the high school choir and band, playing the piano, organ, and even trombone. He attended Duquesne University and Point Park College, also studying at the Computer Systems Institute. He worked for more than 25 years as a braille proofreader at the National Braille Press in Boston. During that time he also served as a church organist and as a pianist at several ballet schools. In Washington he continued to sing in a church choir and served as a substitute organist. Gilbert Busch retired from NLS in late 2020.
