AUTHOR: Timothy Jones
Timothy Jones joined NLS as their Braille music specialist in February 2022. He provides quality assurance of newly transcribed Braille music scores. He assists with the Braille music digitization project by correcting scan errors in newly scanned hard copy Braille scores. He provides music reference services to patrons. Jones' specialty is advising on material for either learning Braille music or enhancing Braille music skills. In addition, he participates in technology developments to make NLS materials more accessible. Jones holds a bachelor’s in music performance with a concentration on organ from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, and a master’s in piano pedagogy from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Outside of his work at NLS, Jones actively plays both piano and organ for church services and provides training to help other blind musicians achieve their potential through learning Braille music and assistive technology.
