New BARD Additions – January 2019

Once again, it’s time to tell you about new acquisitions in the NLS Music Section. So please keep reading: you may find music composers who are new to you, as they are to me.

Verdi, Giuseppe. Four Sacred Pieces, No. 3: Laudi alla Vergine Maria: Second soprano part (BRM36675).

Decker, Pamela. Faneuil Hall (BRM36683). “A musical portrait of the landmark Faneuil Hall in Boston that housed pivotal meetings and events in the history of the United States …” (Publisher’s Note)

Fantasy on “Ein Feste Burg” (BRM36685). A set of continuous variations on the chorale known as “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.”

Passacaglia on B-A-C-H (BRM36684). A recital piece consisting of a passacaglia, pedal solo, lyrical section, and toccata.

Levitzki, Mischa. Gavotte, Op. 3 (BRM00298).

Moszkowski, Moritz. Melodie, Op. 18, No. 1 (BRM00333).

The New English Hymnal: Hymns 331-346 (BRM36680). A production of Golden Chord Braille Music Transcription Service. No words, music only.

Palmgren, Selim. May Night (BRM00367). An impressionistic piano piece by Finnish composer Selim Palmgren.
