We continue with our collection of unlabeled, unidentified movie and TV stills and we hope you can help us. Below are shots of various ladies and, if you think you know who they are, please post in the “comments” section below. For a better, bigger look at the photos, please “click” on the image. As these identities are solved, we’ll update this blog accordingly. Thank you!
1. Neither the exotic film this actress is in nor the actress’s name is known to us at this time.
SOLVED!: The lady above is Kanza Omar.
2. Some text has bled into this image but it’s not readable. Hence, we hope someone will recognize this smiling lady.
SOLVED!: Frances Waller, who appeared in a 1949 episode of TV’s “Kraft Television Theatre” titled “New Brooms.”
3. We know neither this hitch-hiking actress nor the film this photo is taken from.
SOLVED!: Rebekah Johnson in “Ruby Jean and Joe” (1996)!–Thanks, Kitty!
4. Obviously, these four shots are part of a larger composite/proof sheet. All seem to be of the same woman. But who is she?
SOLVED!: The lady in the hat is actress Cynthia Lynn.
5. Is this a young actress posing for some studio-related “cheesecake” or is this a more of a “pin-up” shot ala Bettie Page? Either way, we’d love to know her identity.
SOLVED!: Arline Hunter!–Thank you, Stela!
6. The name of the lady in the horizontal stripes is not known right now.
SOLVED: This is actress Wendy Phillips.
7. The lady in question here is probably involved in classical music in some fashion as the photographer of this image usually takes portraits of musicians. But who is she?
SOLVED!: We think this is soprano (and sometime film star) Noelle Rogers.–Thank you, John H.
8. Probably a dancer–but what is her name?
SOLVED: Mary Lou Ryhal!

photo#6 of the girl in stripes looks like a young Stefanie Powers
Is No. 7 Peggy Lee
photo 1: maybe Yvonne De Carlo
photo 2: maybe Gene Tierney
No. 1 without a doubt in my mind is Maria Montez. Check any search of photos of her. UD
#5 could be young Marilyn Monroe.
#8 might be a very young Juliet Prowse
#4 – I’m pretty sure this is Chili Williams, a popular 1940s pin-up girl. After a photo of her wearing a polka-dotted bikini appeared in Life magazine she got more than 100,000 fan letters. It got her a movie contract and bit parts in movies like Having Wonderful Crime and Wonder Man. She eventually quit acting and stayed out of the spotlight until her death in 2003.
#8 looks like Mitzi Gaynor, to me.
#6 looks like Soleil Moon Frye
#6 Is this a young Carrie Fisher (Star Wars actress, author and Hollywood child) ?
#2 looks like Jean Arthur to me
photo#6 of the girl in stripes, looks like Marlo Thomas
1 might be Evelyn Ankers.
#5 Might be Bunny Yeager
#6 might be a young Diana Canova of the sitcom, “Soap.”
No. 8 is definitely not Juliet Prowse; the eyebrows are wrong, for one thing, and the woman just does not have Ms. Prowse’s smile.
Theda Berra she was in silent movies
Diana Canova from soap I second that
Theda Berra #1
#2 looks a little like Patsy Cline to me
#5: There’s a tenuous tie to the possibility that the model may be Marilyn Monroe. Ms. Monroe posed in 1962 for at least two seashore bathing suit shots using similar seaweed strands to those in this photo. 0f course, the Marilyn of 1962 was a blonder blonde than the model in this photo but, then, Marilyn was less blonde too earlier in her career.
#5. Looks like Ida Lupino.
Photo no. 7, blonde woman involved in classical music, is soprano Noelle Rogers, who sang at New York City Opera for a few years in the 1970’s. I sure of it.
#5 Could be Barbara Baxley
I still think #2 looks like Jean Arthur, but I can’t find another photo of her with the same jacket– similar ones, but not the same.
Could #2 be Gale Storm in early years? Like Jul with Jean Arthur, I’m still looking for another photo of her with the same jacket
#4 Perhaps Hillary Brooke? 🙂
#5 is not Marilyn or Sheree North.
#8 is not Juliet Prowse.
#6- Could that be a young
the girl in the striped shirt (#6) looks like marlo thomas of “that girl”
It’s hard to tell, but look up Kathryn Grant Crosby for #1. She was Bing Crosby’s second wife (30 years his junior). She did a few “Sinbad” movies that this costume looks right for. But she started super young in those movies so if this is her, it would have to be a later sequel. Her daughter Mary is still alive. (Actually, Kathryn is still alive but I don’t know what her mental state is.) Mary Crosby was famous as the person who shot JR Ewing on Dallas.
#1 looks like Maria Montez
