"To Sir, With Love" film poster. Film star Sidney Poitier is seen in center image in black suit against which various scenes from the film are imposed, including shot of co-star Lulu. White and yellow letters against a blue background list Poitier's name and film title, etc.To Sir, With Love (Columbia, 1967)

Sidney Poitier portrays a somewhat reluctant teacher who cares so much for his students that they fall in love with him.  A feeling he feels in response.  Lulu sings the memorable theme song and it nails the mood of the film.  Color, 105 minutes.

Film poster for Greta Garbo film "Love" features painted-over image of John Gilbert kissing a reclining Greta Garbo. Large letters write out stars' names and film title against colorful background.Love (MGM, 1927)

What says “love,” at least on the silent screen, more than Greta Garbo and John Gilbert?  A story that shows us sometimes love makes u do the wrong things.  The Divine Garbo seems made for this month.  Preceding the film will be a Laurel & Hardy short, “Love ’em and Weep.”  B&W, 100 minutes total.  Andrew Simpson provides live musical accompaniment.
