Sally Field won an Oscar for her portrayal of a courageous Southern textile worker trying to unionize coworkers at a small-town cotton mill. New 35mm print from Twentieth Century Fox. Color, 114 min.

  1. Tom Jones, Happy Gilmore and Norma Rae – Wonderfulness! If I had to choose a picture out of the three, mine is Norma Rae. Miss Sally deserved the Oscar. Her Norma Rae made an impression on this moviegoer. I had just turned 23 that year. It’s hard to believe it came out that long ago…
