A bank president (Walter Huston) battles his board of directors in order to keep making loans to hard-pressed clientele. When dire circumstances threaten the bank’s solvency, the chief teller and his fiancée rally around the boss. Early effort from director Frank Capra, whose later films would explore similar themes.
