AUTHOR: Deanna McCray-James
Deanna McCray-James has worked in the Library’s Office of Communications since 2008. As the Public Access Officer she leads internal and emergency communications; manages outreach efforts for various programs, exhibitions and events as well as directs the office’s various internship opportunities facilitated through the Internship and Fellowship Program office. Deanna co-leads communications for Of the People: Widening the Path, the Library’s multi-year initiative that promotes outreach to and technology innovation and archives development for, and by, Black, Indigenous and other communities of color historically underrepresented in the U.S. and in the Library’s collections. She holds a M.B.A. in Organizational Management, a M.S. in Public Relations Management and a B.A. in Management Studies from University of Maryland Global Campus.
