Postcard Views From Above

Included in my most recent Flickr album on aerial views was the postcard below. This particular card is a photomechanical color print of Tulane Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana. This was the site of the annual Sugar Bowl college football game for its first few decades, until it moved to the Superdome.

Finding it sent me on a search for other aerial views within our postcard collections. Luckily, just over 8,000 photographic postcards of the U.S. have been recently processed and digitized. The results of my search ranged from coast to coast of the United States, and included views of big cities, small towns, mountaintops and wide sandy beaches.
