Just a reminder that teachers have two chances to talk with Library of Congress education specialists at conferences this week.
Stop by if you’re attending either the National Council of Teachers of English conference in Baltimore, MD, or the National Council for the Social Studies conference in Austin, TX.
At NCTE, on Thursday, November 21, from 9:45am-10:45am in room 306, Library staff will present “Sparking Inquiry with Library of Congress Primary Sources.” We also be in booth 845 in the exhibit hall, along with experts from various parts of the Library, a perk of the conference being so close to DC!
At NCSS, on November 22, from 2:00-4:00 p.m., 43 Teaching with Primary Sources partners and regional grant recipients will present posters inside Ballroom D at the Austin Convention Center. Learn more about their programs, lesson plans, professional development activities, and other materials they have created using the Library’s resources. In addition, several civics apps partners will be demonstrating their projects. Stop in for coffee or tea and snacks and leave with materials you’ll be able to use with your students immediately. On Saturday, November 23, in room 8BC on level 3 of the Austin Convention Center Library staff will present “Discover What’s New for Teachers from the Library of Congress.” We will also be in booth 234 in the exhibit hall.
We look forward to talking to you and answering your questions, but if you can’t stop by in person, feel free to leave us a comment on this post. And remember that Ask a Librarian offers reference assistance wherever you are!
