In December, the top three 2022 Literacy Awards prize winners will kick off a five-part webinar series showcasing this year’s winning organizations’ successful literacy practices.

Educators, librarians, literacy professionals, and members of the general public are invited to attend these virtual events, which will occur between December 2022 and April 2023. Participants will be encouraged to engage in the discussion and share questions, ideas, and their own successful practices before the live events by emailing [email protected] and during the live events via chat.

The first of the monthly panel-style discussions will feature representatives from Street Child (2022 David M. Rubenstein Prize Winner), Make Way for Books (2022 American Prize Winner), and Young African Refugees for Integral Development (2022 International Prize Winner).  It will be on Thursday, December 15, 2023, from 1:00PM EST to 2:30PM EST. Lee Ann Potter, Director of the Library’s Professional Learning and Outreach Initiatives Office, will serve as moderator.

2022 marks the tenth year that the Library has recognized nonprofit organizations for their outstanding educational programs that promote literacy and reading in the United States and abroad. Through the generous support of philanthropist David M. Rubenstein, the Literacy Awards Program has awarded more than 150 literacy champions in the United States and around the world since 2013.
