Are you going to be at the National Council of Social Studies conference in Nashville this weekend? The Library of Congress education team will be there as well. Here is where you can find us!

We will be in the exhibit hall in booth 645. Come visit us and learn about our new self-paced online professional development modules, the Teaching with the Library blog, our upcoming summer professional development programs and the many resources we have to support teachers.

We also hope you will stop by and collect a resource from the Story Cube. The Story Cube prints out Library of Congress teacher resources, which are all free to use, specifically selected for social studies teachers. But if you can’t stop by, or want all the resources, here’s a complete list of resources offered through the Story Cube at NCSS’s 2023 Annual Conference.

Want to learn about the Library’s Teaching with Primary Sources partners? Fifty-two of them will be presenting posters in Exhibit Hall A on Level 3 of the Music City Center from 10:00-11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 1. Meet our partners and get information on the work they have done and to learn about professional development opportunities and resources you can use with students.

We will also host presentations featuring our partners and Library of Congress staff on Friday, December 1, and Saturday, December 2, in room 206A. Sessions will include using primary sources to humanize historical figures, show how techniques from ELA teachers can deepen learning with  primary sources in all disciplines, as well as sessions on how primary sources can be used to encourage deeper understanding between groups, and provide connections to local and national historical events.

We look forward to seeing you there.
