For the 2019-2020 school year, I left the classroom, and accepted the role as the Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellow at the Library of Congress. The year began with excitement as I explored the collections, and the beautiful city of Washington, DC. Leaving now is bittersweet.

Now in 2020, over 100 years after this photograph was taken, the United States is once again preparing to undertake its decennial census, mandated by the U.S. Constitution for the purpose of determining how many seats in Congress go to each state.
