AUTHOR: Carlyn Osborn

Carlyn Grace Osborn is a Digital Collections Librarian in the Digital Services Directorate at the Library of Congress and is a Community Manager for the 'By the People' crowdsourced transcription program. She graduated from the Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor's in the history of science, medicine and technology (2014) and from the University of Maryland College of Information Studies with a master's of library and information sciences, specializing in archives and digital curation (2017). Carlyn has been involved with museums, libraries, and special collections since 2010 and is interested in the history of science, crowdsourced cultural heritage, and digital engagement. Prior to joining the Digital Services Directorate and the 'By the People' team, Carlyn worked in the Geography and Map division at the Library of Congress, where she founded the blog Worlds Revealed in 2015.
