AUTHOR: Eileen J. Manchester
Eileen J. Manchester (she/her) was an innovation specialist on the LC Labs team at the Library of Congress from 2019 to 2024. She worked on a wide range of initiatives regarding how the Library can creatively use technology to engage the public and provide access to its digital collections. As a former high school English teacher, she is especially interested in the Library’s engagement with young learners and K-12 educators. She has extensive research experience in early modern European literature and history and speaks German natively and French fluently. Eileen is an alumna of the Library of Congress Junior Fellows Program and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English, French, and German from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master’s in modern languages from the University of Oxford. While working, she is also pursuing a Ph.D. in education at George Mason University on a part-time basis.
