AUTHOR: Ed Redmond
Ed Redmond was a reference specialist in the Library’s Geography and Map Division. Ed held a bachelor’s degree in history education from the University of Delaware, earned his master’s degree in early American history from West Chester (Pa.) University, and joined the Library in 1989. He was curator of the Library’s map vault, and his research interests included maps of 18th century Virginia including those drawn by George Washington (1732-1799). After a distinguished career of more than 30 years of public service at the Library of Congress, Ed passed away in 2021.
