Grieg, Evdard: Peer Gynt suite, op. 46 (BRM19835)
This is an arrangement for small orchestra in section by section format of Edvard Grieg’s famous suite he wrote as incidental music to Henrik Ibsen’s play of the same title. This is the Peer Gynt suite no. 1 with the 4 movements: Morning Mood (Morgenstemning) in E major, The Death of Åse (Åses død) in B minor, Anitra’s Dance (Anitras dans) in A minor and In the Hall of the Mountain King (I Dovregubbens hall) in B minor.
This beautiful song is attributed to Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710–1736). It has been highly popular since the 1750s. This version is for bass voice with piano accompaniment in line by line and bar over bar formats.
