Nate Smith is currently a Science Reference Specialist in the Science, Technology & Business Division at the Library of Congress. His subject areas include Chemistry, the History of Science and Technology, and Mathematics. Prior to his current position, he served in the Preservation Directorate at the Library of Congress for twelve years performing conservation treatment on items from the Library’s General Collections. He holds a Master of Science in Library Science from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.
